Statement from BHJ Executive Management on novel coronavirus-COVID19
Supply chain transparency

Supply chain transparency

Today’s consumers are increasingly conscious about what they feed themselves and their families - and the same goes for pet owners in relation to their pets. They want to know about the origin of the ingredients, understand the processes involved in making the food, and they are also interested in knowing whether someone or something got harmed during the process. These demands put an enormous burden on the food and pet food producers, who are being confronted by growing demands for increased transparency.

The raw materials we source, process and deliver make up a large portion of many pet food recipes all over the world. Apart from ensuring a lean and efficient stream of raw materials, we also have to document the origin and treatment of products throughout the supply chain.

We already have many metrics in place in order to measure, document and trace the supplies – from farmer or fisherman, via slaughterhouse, in and out of our own processing plants to fulfilled delivery. In other words, we provide pet food producers with knowledge about products and processes to enable them to meet the growing demand for transparency and compliance with recognized sustainability standards.
